How Much RAM Do You Need

RAM is nothing but a temporary storage that stores the associated data of running programs, OS or any other app at that moment. So that they can be reached quickly by the device’s processor.

For example -  if you are editing a word file the associated data will be loaded in the RAM. After you are done and close the application it will get stored in hard drive.

Now that you know what RAM is, let’s see how much RAM you have…

To check how much RAM your PC have:

Go to the infamous “My Computer” for Windows 7 or earlier versions or “This PC” for Windows 8 and 10. Right click on the icon and select Properties.

Next you’ll see a window displaying information of your computer; under installed memory (RAM) heading you will find the size of RAM.

If you see the size of the ram contradictory to what you expected then it might be an issue with the Windows OS. Due to the languish system architecture the 32 bit only supports up to 4GB of RAM so there is no chance to increase the RAM size. Switching to 64 bits might help with the issue.
